On Order

We’ve got some good fiction coming to our shelves this month!  Here are a few I’m looking forward to reading:

Rainbow Rowell, who wrote the acclaimed Eleanor and Park, has a new book which will be here soon: Fangirl. Smart, funny and quirky, just like her previous book, I for one can’t wait to read it!

Also coming soon is a new basketball story by sports writer John Feinstein, Foul Trouble. This one is about the college recruitment process for high school athletes and the pitfalls that accompany it. I anticipate this one to be as full of sports action as his previous best sellers, the Final Four Mysteries.

The new thriller by Margaret Peterson Haddix, Full Ride, is a perfect choice for middle and high school readers alike. Becca and her mom are in a self-imposed exile similar to a witness protection program due to her father’s criminal past, and it works out fine until Becca inadvertently gives away her true identity during the college admission process.  Fans of Haddix’s other books are sure to love this one too!

There’s a mystery surrounding the car accident that left Ember with a debilitating back injury and without memory of the 6 preceding weeks. Her family and friends refuse to talk about the accident and what led up to it, so Ember determines to find the truth herself in Adelle Griffin’s newest mystery/thriller Loud Awake and Lost. Fans of Griffin’s previous thrillers (Tighter, Picture the Dead, and All You Never Wanted) will want this one as soon as it hits our shelf!

If you read Timeless by Alexandra Monir you will want to pick up the long awaited sequel, Timekeeper. Timeless was named a top teen pick by Barnes and Noble. It’s a time traveling fantasy that will make you a believer in the power of true love.

Look for two new additions to the Ultimate X-Men graphic novel series: Ultimate Collection books 3 and 4.  Also Superman Earth One Volume 2 is on its way along with Okko volumes 2 and 3 (Cycle of Earth and Cycle of Air).

That’s all for now!  Catch you next week!
